BOUND FOR GLORY
GALACTAGOGUE
DIE LIKE A GOD
AUTOMATING
HATE CAGE
DOTABATA

BOUND FOR GLORY are one of Melbourne's finest exponents of noise. With Mark Groves (Dead Boomers/Von Einem) at the helm and an ever changing line-up, BFG performances are always unique and challenging. Expect the unexpected.

GALACTAGOGUE is the noise/drone project of Mark Skelton (Night Soil/Last Days Of The Sun). Low frequency waves of primordial sound that induces uncontrollable physical behavior. Extreme though amazing!

DIE LIKE A GOD is Shaun Duncan (White Tiger A:. A:.), originally from the City Of Churches. DLAG are one of the most ferocious sound merchants this country has ever produced.

AUTOMATING is the experimental project of Sasha Margolis (Constant Light/Salivation Army), sublime and ethereal, Automating are at the forefront of the avant garde in Australia today.

HATE CAGE are Lloyd James Honeybrook (Hate Sax/Occult Blood/Fucked) and Peter James (Solvent Cage/Monolith). This will be their first performance, expect walls of feedback drenched noise obliteration.

DOTABATA is Carey Knight (Inmost Night), one of the more interesting noise makers about town Dotabata explores sound in a very unique fashion using a variety of sources and instrumentation to create mesmerising noisescapes.

Please note there will be no set times listed as its going to be SOUND IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER.

The last stop on the 55 tram at Bell Street will get you nearby. Holdings is about a 5 block walk west from there. If you can get to Bell or Coburg Station the 513 bus will take you pretty much across the road. Just ask to get off before Reynolds Parade. Holdings is across the road from a 7-Eleven (which is on the corner of Reynolds & Bell) if you need a landmark."

Flash Fund: Collaborative Preformance.

The first two Noise Flash's have been a hell of a lot of fun, for both performers and audience members alike.

Heading into Noise Flash #3 in early 2014, we've decide to attempt to generate some funds to helps us with the running expenses of the event.

A large part of this is AAA batteries to power all the radio transmitters! But we also have hopes to generate enough funds in order to obtain radios that can be rented/borrowed at the Noise Flash performances.

The overall plan is to allow the project to grow, and to keep it free.

So, we've decided to host 'Fla$h fund', a fundraiser gig at conduit arts, to aid in the process!

Artists will be performing in improvised groups on the evening, drinks will be flowing, and the audio will be audible without an FM radio for a change!

So drop in, show some support, and give us your money! (Entry: $10).

Noise Flash No.2

So it's been aproximatly six months since the last Noise Flash so we're doing it again. This time it is outside the forecourt of the Melbourne Museum. This time I'll actually be controling my devices, not letting nature do the hard work...

Info from the facebook event:

Noise Flash
Curated by Todd Anderson-Kunert

Presented as a part of the Liquid Architecture Festival.
http://www.liquidarchitecture.org.au/

Concept
Noise Flash is a silent experimental audio performance, whereby the audio is performed live and broadcast via short wave FM radio transmitters. Thirty four artists will be performing simultaneously using acoustically silent devices that are battery powered. Audience members wishing to hear the performance need to bring a FM radio and headphones, and tune into the broadcast frequency (Note: ‘Scanner’ type radios that don’t allow you to dial in a particular frequency may not pick up the signal). Within the performance space, nothing will be acoustically audible.

The experimental audio performers will be positioned outside at the forecourt of the Melbourne Museum (at the entrance to the museum, outside, under the giant roof!). Audience members will be invited to walk through the performance space. The average transmitting distance of the FM transmitters is approximately 5 meters, which means that an audience member’s proximity to a performer dictates the audio they hear.

When close to a performer, an audience member will hear only that performer. When between performers, the signal fades and interacts with other signals in the space. This can cause interesting mixes of audio, static, and distortion. It also puts the audience member directly in control of how they hear the performance. Their physical journey through the space ultimately dictates their interpretation of the audio performance.

This is a free event.
